Formally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)(HKUST(GZ)) is a cooperatively-run higher education institution between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. HKUST(GZ) has obtained approval from the Ministry of Education (MoE) and become the first legally-independent educational institution co-established by the Mainland and Hong Kong since the announcement and implementation of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and the “Overall Plan for Deepening Globally Oriented Comprehensive Co-operation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Nansha of Guangzhou”.

香港科技大学（广州）是一所经国家教育部批准设立的内地与香港合作大学，是《粤港澳大湾区发展规划纲要》及《广州南沙深化面向世界的粤港澳全面合作总体方案》颁布实施以来成立的具有独立法人资格的内地与香港合作办学机构，于2022年6月正式成立。香港科技大学（广州）锐意创新，以发展融合学科为特色，探索创新人才培养模式，以建设成为内地与香港教育融合发展的典范、国际知名的高水平大学为己任，致力于培养面向未来的高水平创新型人才。

Formally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST(GZ)) is a cooperatively-run higher education institution between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The first phase covers an area of about 716 mu (47.7 hectares) with a floorage of about 636,000 square meters (63.6 hectares), which has been officially put into use in September 2022.

2023年10月23日，鸣智卓越讲坛第二期暨首场博雅沙龙特邀香港科技大学（广州）（以下简称“港科大（广州）”）党委书记屈哨兵教授，围绕大学“五问”进行了精彩的演讲与深入的探讨。本场讲座由教育科学学院副院长、教育创新与实践研究所常务副所长马近远博士主持。

2023年11月1日，鸣智卓越讲坛特别邀请同济大学副研究员Dr. Emanuel Leite Junior（埃玛博士）作客第四期暨博雅沙龙第二期。本场沙龙由教育科学学院通识教育基柱讲师吕东烨老师主持，主题为：“绿茵场之外：关于足球的地缘政治和政治经济的反思”。

2023年11月10日，香港科技大学（广州）（以下简称“港科大（广州）”）鸣智卓越讲坛第五期暨博雅沙龙第三期以“世界科幻大会之后的回响——中国科幻未来之路漫议”为主题，在客座嘉宾与同学们的热烈畅谈中圆满落幕。本场沙龙邀请了科幻领域的三位专家学者和著名作家，他们分别是南方科技大学人文科学中心教授、博士生导师吴岩，南方科技大学访问学者、科幻学者张峰，以及青年科幻作家王诺诺。
